Terms & Conditions / Rules & Regulations

Tournament Categories

The tournament shall consist of the following categories:

  • Advanced Men’s Doubles
  • Intermediate Men’s Doubles
  • Mixed Doubles

Registration Deadline

The closing date for tournament registration shall be 5 July 2026. Any registrations submitted after the stated deadline may not be accepted by the organiser.

Registration Fee

All registration fees paid are strictly non-refundable and non-transferable, regardless of withdrawal, absence, disqualification, or any other reason.

A registration will only be confirmed when both players have filled entry form and paid registration fee in full.

Registration & Reporting Time

All participants are required to report to the registration counter by 8:45 AM on the day of the tournament.

Participants must personally sign in at the registration desk prior to the commencement of matches. Failure to register within the stipulated time may result in disqualification, and the organiser reserves the right to forfeit the eligibility of any late or absent player/team.

Player Verification & Eligibility

The organiser reserves the right to verify the identity and eligibility of all participants at any time during the tournament.

All players are required to bring a valid identification document (such as NRIC, passport, driving licence, or other official photo identification) on the day of the tournament for verification purposes. Failure to produce valid identification upon request may result in disqualification from the tournament.

Players who have previously reached the Quarter Finals or above in ANY Badminton England Bronze Tournament category, including:

  • Singles
  • Men’s Doubles
  • Mixed Doubles

must register under the Advanced Men’s Doubles category where applicable.

The organiser reserves the right to:

  • reassign players to the appropriate category,
  • impose handicap points,
  • or disqualify any player/team

if it is determined that the player/team should have registered under the Advanced category due to a significant discrepancy in playing level or tournament experience.

All decisions made by the organiser regarding player classification and eligibility shall be final.

Tournament Format

Group Stage

  • Matches in the group stage shall be played using a 15-point scoring system without setting, best of three (3) games.
  • A player/team must win two (2) games to win the match.

Knockout Stage (Quarter Finals onwards)

  • Quarter Finals, Semi Finals, and Finals shall be played using a 21-point scoring system, best of three (3) games.
  • Standard badminton rules shall apply unless otherwise stated by the organiser.

Match Attendance, No-Show & Walkover

Players are required to be present and ready at the assigned court once their match is called.

Any player/team failing to appear within the allocated waiting time determined by the organiser shall be considered a “no-show” and will automatically forfeit the match. A walkover may then be awarded to the opposing player/team.

Warm-Up Responsibility

Players are responsible for carrying out their own warm-up and stretching exercises before the start of each match. Limited warm-up time may be provided on court subject to tournament scheduling.

Player Safety & Liability

All participants compete entirely at their own risk. The organiser, officials, sponsors, and venue management shall not be held responsible for any injuries, accidents, loss, damage, or theft of personal belongings incurred during the tournament.

Participants are advised to ensure they are medically fit to compete and to take all necessary precautions to avoid injury.

Sportsmanship & Conduct

All players are expected to demonstrate proper sportsmanship, discipline, and respect towards officials, organisers, opponents, and fellow participants at all times.

The organiser reserves the right to disqualify any participant found engaging in misconduct, unsportsmanlike behaviour, or actions that may disrupt the tournament.

Equipment & Attire

Players are required to wear appropriate sports attire and non-marking court shoes during matches. Players are responsible for ensuring their own equipment is in proper playing condition.

Schedule Changes

The organiser reserves the right to amend match schedules, tournament formats, scoring systems, or any rules and regulations where necessary to ensure the smooth running of the tournament.

Final Authority

Any matters not covered under these Terms & Conditions shall be determined solely by the organiser. All decisions made by the organiser shall be final and binding on all participants.
